TRIBES
- The capital's first retail store of exquisite tribal artifacts,
located at 9, Mahadev Road, New Delhi, is a project of the Tribal
Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Ltd. (TRIFED),
Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India. Tribes offer a breathtaking
range of tribal artifacts carved and sculpted by the finest tribal
craftsperson in the country. The TRIBES Shop aims at accelerating
the economic development of tribal people through the sale of their
products on a sustainable basis. In order to provide design development
to the artisans, Tribes is planning to implement a design development
project as per details below.
As most of the tribal crafts have their own way
of production, their own designs, colours and shapes, each art needs
careful study and understanding before new life can be injected
into it. New designs and products can be developed/evolved to suit
the customers. The tribal crafts identified for design development
during the current financial year are mentioned below:
